Finnish companies Iceye and Nokia are joining forces with Ukraine to explore the development of secure satellite communications under Ukrainian control.
The letter of intent was announced on Thursday during Finnish Prime Minister Petteri Orpo's visit to Ukraine, according to an Iceye statement.
The initiative builds on a partnership announced earlier in October, under which the two companies aim to develop low Earth orbit (LEO) satellite communications systems for governments. The first satellites are expected to be launched in 2028.
